Migraineurs Unite, Call Your Congressman Today to Improve Migraine Research
Time is Running Out to E-Mail Your Member of the House of Representives to Support Change for Migrainuers
WASHINGTON, DC—March 15th, 2008; In an election year so many Migraineurs are so tired of hearing how nothing gets done on Capitol Hill. Well today is you day to put your money where you head-pain is! Metaphorically speaking that is of course, but we do want lead your voice. MAGNUM along with is partner the Alliance for Headache Disorders Advocacy or AHDA have been meeting and working with members of the House of Representatives and their health staffs to task Congress to direct the National Institute of Health (NIH) to increase the funding for research for Migraine disease and headache disorders.
You can make a big difference in just 5 minutes. That's all it will take to learn the issues and send a letter to your elected officials. The actions of our government have an enormous impact so please educate yourself and take action. We are entering a major email campaign to request that Congress direct the NIH to increase the funding for research needed to better understand these disorders and develop better treatments. Things are moving quickly, so please be sure to join our action network by registering to receive email from us when it's time to contact your legislators. We never share our mailing list with anyone, and when we ask you to come email your legislators, it's always quick and simple.
Join us in this campaign by taking this action today:
Join MAGNUM & our friends at AHDA who have set up an Action Network for MAGNUM and other head-pain NGO’s and they will send you to a webpage that will allow you to send a message to your Congressman via the Internet, all you will need to know is you zip code!
After you contact your Congressman or your Congresswoman sign up with AHDA to stay in touch because MAGNUM is working with your Senators right now too! But that is for another day. In the meantime they will send you important updates regarding our issues and how you can speak out on important issues. When it is the right time for all of us to contact our members of Congress, we will email you so you can return to our site and follow a few easy steps to email your Senators and members of the House.
We & AHDA respect your privacy and guarantee that our mailing list will not be shared with anyone. You will receive email only from us.
Uncle Sam's daughter Liberty, herself a Migraineur, illustrates just how much we really do need you!
As of this morning, AHDA is concerned that you have not yet contacted your Representative. This is just a reminder that time is very short to contact her/him regarding the Obey/Walsh Dear Colleague Letter. Monday is the very last day for your Representative to sign this important letter.
If you have already sent an email through the website and have not received a confirmation email, then it may not have been accepted. We have had a handful of reports of this happening. We are very sorry about this bug, but please send the email again.
If you haven't sent an email yet, then please find just five minutes to do so as soon as you can.
All you need to do is to directly TAKE ACTION by clicking here, add a personal paragraph if you wish, fill in your contact information that's needed to email a House member, and click the "Send Message" button.
If you click the box next to "Remember Me!" near the bottom, your personal info will be there the next time you send an email through our system. You may also want to keep a copy of what you write in case you want to use it again when the time comes for us to email your Senators.
